Just had this happen in Shing Jea. OH asked me to sell a 20/20 dagger tang for him for around 4k. No probs says I and off I go putting a WTS for it @ 4k in the trade channel.

At this point s/he puts some high req purple far from perfect daggers in trade with the comment 'I have Shiros Blades'.

S/he knew what it was, saw my asking price, but still comes out with this. I must admit I giggled a bit after reporting the 'loser' comment.
To top it off 20 seconds later a lvl10 A/W from the same guild suddenly shows up to start complaining about the price.

Strangest thing I ever encountered was some pervert paying gold to young female players in exchange for their willingness to allow him to "virtually" harass them sexually.

I was in a city on my female Mesmer character and he was luring them thru local chat by saying he'd give "free" gold to any real female players. I was just hanging out in town (Old Ascalon) and noticed that many players, claiming to be female, were returning to town complaining about sexual harassment from the same character.

While I may be male, I thought I'd explore this situation since I was on a female character (according to the alleged harasser, only female characters could be female players) and, to my astonishment, he would pay me gold for every time I submitted to his sexual comments or requests.

After a few platinum, and he progressed to a rather crude state that I no longer felt like humouring, I let it be known that I was male and that I scammed him in retaliation for the players whom he was taking advantage of and that I was reporting him; and I left.

He, of course, started bitching at me and whining about how he didn't do anything wrong and how these girls are "stupid" or "want" to be sexually harassed and "put in their place;" though never asked for the money back.

Of course, this was long ago before the report system, and aNet never got back to me; so I have no idea if my report was any help.

Never seen anything like that in GW again, though.

I was actually surprised to see such a creep in the game though. Didn't know people really did that.

Yet another /facepalm moment in Kamadan!
A lvl20 ranger was spamming in local 'Give me free runescape account, mine got hacked. Member code would be awesome' over and over and over again.

Folks commented, no response, speculation on whether it was a bot and finally a response as below. White - spammer, Red - other players, Black - recruitment local posts.

Can you detect the exact point where they panic and try to backtrack?

I think I saw someone like that during Competitive Mission weekend, telling people to gtfo unless they had armor like his.

On a more amusing note, back before Nightfall, I was in AB on my PvE monk when two assassins decided (as per the norm) to hate on the convenient monk target wearing blatantly non-PvP armor in front of them. I've always liked having extra health on my monk, which they didn't know - and I started running towards a friendly group near me, with them hot in pursuit - and they didn't stop until they were headlong up versus four rather happy Kurzicks, who'd spotted easy prey. This ended with the typical result.

One of them goes on local chat and complains, "Frickin' stupid monk, she's not supposed to have so much HP and then run towards friends for help!"

Amused teammate: Actually, she is. Have fun.
